Philippine Italian Association Presents 'Dante, Our Luck' Free Screening on March 25

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, MARCH 19, 2021 — After the success in 2019 of “Being Leonardo da Vinci, an Impossible Interview” by writer, producer, and actor Massimiliano Finazzer Flory, the Philippine Italian Association (PIA), Dante Alighieri Society in Manila (SDA), and Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (ICCPI), under the auspices of the Embassy of Italy in the Philippines, join forces with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), National Library of the Philippines (NLP), and many other partners to present the latest production of Finazzer Flory’s production of Dante Alighieri and the “Divine Comedy” entitled “Dante Per Nostra Fortuna (Dante, Our Luck).”

Actors, Singers to Get Royalties as Duterte Signs Treaty on Audiovisual Performances

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, FEBRUARY 19, 2021 — The intellectual property rights of Filipino audiovisual performers will soon be protected internationally through the recent signing of the Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performances by President Rodrigo Duterte.

On January 14, President Duterte signed the Instrument of Accession to the Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performances, which seeks to provide a clearer international legal framework to safeguard the rights of performers against the unauthorized use of their performances in audiovisual media and fixations.

Announcement regarding the 2021 FIAF Congress

The International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF), a federation the brings together the world's leading institutions in the field of moving picture heritage, has announced that it will not be possible to hold an in-person Congress in Dhaka this spring as initially planned. The current pandemic which is still globally affecting nations has caused such a decision in which can be understood. Travel restrictions and health and safety concerns for all involved just does not allow the congress to take place in person.
