FDCP Now Accepting Entries for LGBTQIA+ Film Festival

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, APRIL 29, 2022 — In celebration of the upcoming Pride Month this June, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) will once again be spearheading the “Pelikulaya: LGBTIA+ Film Festival,” on June 10 to 26, 2022 which will be held in hybrid format. The Agency opened its call for entries for the local short film competition last April 13, 2022 and will be accepting entries until May 13, 2022.

Far East Film Festival to Welcome PH Delegation in Italy; Showcases 9 PH Films and a Manila Special Section

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, APRIL 25, 2022 (Updated) — Nine Filipino films, two Filipino film projects, one Filipino series, and a delegation of filmmakers and talents, together with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) are participating at the hybrid 24th Far East Film Festival (FEFF) in Udine, Italy which opened last April 22 and will run until April 30, 2022.

PH Bags 3 Awards at the 19th Asian Film Festival in Italy; Brillante Mendoza Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, APRIL 22, 2022 — Three out of three In Competition Filipino films won major awards at the 19th Asian Film Festival (AFF 19) which was held onsite in Rome, Italy last April 7 to 13, 2022. The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) brought a total of five Filipino films to the AFF 19, including films by Lifetime Achievement Awardee, Brillante Mendoza.

FDCP Awards P100K Film Grants to 10 Sine Kabataan Finalists

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, APRIL 12, 2022 — Ten (10) young filmmakers have been selected as finalists in the 5th edition of the Sine Kabataan Short Film Lab and Festival. Each finalist will receive a PHP 100,000 grant as funds to use in the production of their respective short films. 

Leonor Goes to Turkey: Filipino film to Compete in Turkish Film Festival

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, APRIL 7, 2022 —- The book Ang Daigdig ng mga Api: Remembering a Lost Film written by noted author, playwright, screenwriter, and film scholar Clodualdo “Doy” Del Mundo Jr., and co-published by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) with the De La Salle University (DLSU) Press, was launched yesterday, April 6, 2022 in an in-person program held at the Cinematheque Centre Manila. 

FDCP Opens Call for Audiovisual Companies for Cannes Film Market

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, APRIL 5, 2022 – The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) is looking for Filipino audiovisual companies (producer, services, animation, distributors, or agents) to be part of the Philippine delegation at Marché du Film (MDF), the business arm of the Cannes International Film Festival, this coming May 2022 as it returns as an in-person gathering. Delegates supported by the FDCP will be provided a Marche du Film market badge which grants them access to the entirety of Cannes Film Festival program of screenings and exclusive reruns, Marché du Film screenings, Marché du Film online platform, and to the thematic speed meetings throughout the week-long gathering.

FDCP Opens Call for Producers for Cannes Producers Network 2022

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, MARCH 1, 2022 — Marché du Film, the business side of the Cannes Film Festival and one of the largest film markets in the world, features the Philippines as its Spotlight Country this year. The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), as an international presenting partner of the film market, has opened its call for applications for the Cannes Producers Network happening from May 19 to 23 in France.
