FDCP Banners New Incentives and Programs Amid SC Decision on Halting Amusement Tax Privileges for Graded Films

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) ushers in 2020 with brimming hope as it lays down its numerous projects for the new year. Incentive programs, film labs, film festivals, and film development support programs are among the projects that filmmakers and audiences can look forward to from FDCP. Such spirit of hope is abounding even after the Supreme Court has decided on FDCP’s incentives from amusement tax collections which are awarded to graded films.

SGV ensures the integrity of 37th FAP Luna Awards voting process

Hailed as one of the country's most prestigious award-giving bodies and regarded as the Philippine counterpart to the Academy Awards, the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) Luna Awards has continued to recognize the best talents in the film industry this year via its reputable peer voting process. This was boosted by the partnership of FAP and Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), with SGV & Co. as the official tabulator of the 37th FAP Luna Awards.

FDCP Conducts Orientation on 2020 Financial Incentive Scheme

Launched last October, the Film Philippines Incentive Scheme seeks to encourage international production companies to shoot in the Philippines by providing financial incentives for projects that co-produce with or hire local production companies. The new initiative takes effect in January 2020 and comprises of the Film Location Incentive Program (FLIP) and the International Co-Production Fund (ICOF).

Unsung Sariling Bayani: "Storming with Kidlat Breakdown Session 1"

Unsung Sariling Bayani (USB) is a short film competition focused on lesser-known Filipino heroes with the goal to balance the influence of foreign superheroes in the Filipino youth’s mindset with a compelling engagement with the glorious stories of our very own heroes. USB is spearheaded by National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Kidlat Tahimik and presented by the FDCP in partnership with the National Quincentennial Committee.

FilmPhilippines at China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS)

 

As the world’s largest comprehensive exhibition in the field of service trade, CIFTIS seeks to showcase the thriving partnership between China and ASEAN in this year’s edition. PH Cinema @ the 78th Venice IFF

 

“On The Job: The Missing 8” by Erik Matti, part of the HBO Asia Original Series that will get a worldwide release on HBO GO in September, will have its world premiere in Venice at the Venezia 78 Competition. 

Two projects are in the Venice Gap Financing Market: “Plan 75” by Chie Hayakawa, a Japan-France-Philippines co-production, and Swiss-German co-production “Electric Child” by Simon Jaquemet, an FDCP FilmPhilippines Film Location Incentive Program (FLIP) recipient which has local production company Epicmedia Productions, Inc. as one of its partners.
