Lutas Film Festival [ November 18 - 20, 2021 ]

Lutas Film Festival is the Negros Oriental’s film festival that aims to encourage and develop a storytelling culture within its province through screenings and series of workshops. It started as a thesis presentation and through the support of different organizations and local filmmakers, it became the first film festival in the province. It has been the platform of the regional filmmakers in showcasing their stories and moreover, share with the community through free screenings. This year, as it celebrates its 8th year, it aims to expose the local filmmakers to the greater network of filmmakers and storytellers in the Philippines. Through the years, the filmmakers improved the quality of their crafted films and the film community grew stronger because of collaborations particularly in the capital city, Dumaguete. The participation and the growing interest of the youth to join the festival and produce films are proof that Lutas has been helping the filmmakers to create more local films that could eventually inspire them to produce more films in our locality.

They are still accepting entries for film competition until Nov. 10, 2021.
