Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 6 to Premiere Youth, Regional Shorts Competition Films
MANILA, PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 15, 2022 — The Film Development Council of the Philippines’ (FDCP) annual flagship film festival, Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP), will offer fresh narratives from the youth and the regions featuring free screenings of the finalists from the Sine Kabataan Short Film Lab and Festival and Sine Isla: LuzViMinda Short Film Competition on September 16 to 18 2022 at TriNoma Cinema in Quezon City, and from September 16 to 24 in Cinematheque Centres nationwide. PPP will hold the premiere and awards night on September 16 at Cinema 6 of TriNoma Cinema.

September 7, 2022, Manila, Philippines — The Film Development Council of the Philippines hosts the National Artist for Film Kidlat Tahimik art exhibit at the Cinematheque Centre Manila. The exhibit titled “Indio-Genius: 500 Taong Labanan Kontra Magellan, Marilyn, Mickey, at Padre Damaso” returns to the Philippines after six months in Spain and will be open to the public until the end of the year. The exhibit ruminates on the cultural encounters of Filipinos since the 1521 arrival of the Spanish fleet in the Philippine archipelago.

DOH and FDCP Release Short Film for International Youth Day
MANILA, PHILIPPINES, AUGUST 4, 2022 — In celebration of International Youth Day, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and the Department of Health (DOH) will be screening Child’s Play by Julienne Ilagan, a short film promoting awareness on reproductive health and teenage pregnancy. The film will be posted on the official Facebook pages of DOH and Healthy Pilipinas on August 12, 2022 at 12:00 noon for unlimited public access, and will also be available through the FDCP Channel for free for the next 3 years starting August 26, 2022 at 6:00 pm.
